For the purpose of an integral insight in factors guaranteeing satisfaction of our buyers it is necessary to familiarize in details with the technological process of production in our factory.
The primary activity of Galeb company is production of wearing apparel: underwear, outwear and nightwear. Our production program includes assortment of products for women, men and children.
Products are primarily made of natural fibers (cotton), one part is made of natural regenerated fibers (mocromodal) combined with elastan fibers.
At selection of raw and production materials Galeb only cooperates with reputable suppliers of European origin which results in product satisfying high quality and ecological norms. As of February 2007 our products bear the Croatian Quality label being awarded by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce. As confirmation of high ecological standards for raw materials used in production process, as also for knitted fabrics and finished products Galeb owns the certificate being awarded by the best known quality certification institute from German (Textil-Service-Verglas-und Zertifizierungsstelle from Hohenstein) to which once a year samples are sent for analysis with the purpose to extend the certificate's validity.
We are proud to point out that we carry out the entire production process from knitting to the finished wearing apparel within the own production plant.
The production process itself proceeds in the following technological phases:
- knitting
- coloring, bleaching, washing
- cutting
- sewing
- inspection and packing.
For production of knitting Galeb uses circular knitting machine. The characteristic of knitted fabric made on such knitting machines is the form of tube and that for every size of product the other diameter of knitted fabric is used.
The knitting plant has been equipped with cca 100 knitting machines with the installed annual capacity of cca 800 tons of knitted fabric. Knitting machines may produce single-bed knitting, double-bed knitting, interlock, jacquard and pique knitting.

Finishing has been equipped with modern machines for coloring (jet), and the entire line for drying and compacting of knitted fabrics. In process of bleaching and coloring the ecologically acceptable mediums are used of reputable world producers.

Cutting, as the next phase of the technological process, starts with laying knitting down and creating cutting layer, after which the cutting according to the given cutting layout follows.
Garment manufacturing in the cutting department has machines for laying down and cutting knitted fabrics, as also the device for manufacturing cutting layouts (Lectra).
The sewing facility has been equipped with over 200 sewing machines of various types thus enabling production of wide assortment of products.

Inspection and packaging represent the final phase in the technological process of production. Each sawn product is being inspected, whereas packing is done manually or by machines for automatic packing of products, depending on type and look of the packed goods.
